A Texas jury decided to nail the hammer to the wall. After less than twenty hours of deliberations, twelve citizens, six men and six women, convicted former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay of illegally directing $190,000 in corporate political donations to Republican candidates for the Texas State Legislature. DeLay faces up to ninety-nine years in jail. More>
“[H]umanity is now going through the agonising travail of spiritual rebirth. Great forces of destruction are afoot and seem to be dominant…but constructive and creative forces which will redeem humanity are also being released…[Though] chiefly silent, they are bound to bring about those transformations…the further spiritual advance of humanity…It is all a part of the divine plan, which is to give to the hungry and weary world a fresh dispensation of the eternal and only Truth.” – Meher Baba

A GOP Thanksgiving
Former House Majority Leader, Tom Delay, was convicted last night for money laundering in a Texas courthouse. This, in my mind, has a larger consequence for more than just Delay, but for the Republican majority sitting in the House right now. Excuse me, if I'm generalizing here, but wouldn't it scare you to know that a party, which was corrupt as a minority, becomes a majority? This is my concern. But, then again, it may just be a coincidence. Maybe all Republican house leader ARE NOT like Tom Delay....but you never know, right?
