A GOP Thanksgiving

Former House Majority Leader, Tom Delay, was convicted last night for money laundering in a Texas courthouse. This, in my mind, has a larger consequence for more than just Delay, but for the Republican majority sitting in the House right now. Excuse me, if I'm generalizing here, but wouldn't it scare you to know that a party, which was corrupt as a minority, becomes a majority? This is my concern. But, then again, it may just be a coincidence. Maybe all Republican house leader ARE NOT like Tom Delay....but you never know, right?
A Texas jury decided to nail the hammer to the wall. After less than twenty hours of deliberations, twelve citizens, six men and six women, convicted former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay of illegally directing $190,000 in corporate political donations to Republican candidates for the Texas State Legislature. DeLay faces up to ninety-nine years in jail. More>
